It is important to understand that just like when you start working out at the gym, the moment you are ‘born again’, things are unlikely to look or feel so different. You may for example, still lack patience, succumb to temptation, and still be filled with negative thoughts. As long as you are alive, you will be vulnerable to sin. Sanctification (the effort to bring your soul in alignment with the spirit of God that dwells within you) is a lifelong process. In order to manifest the peace, power, and purpose that comes from having the Holy Spirit living inside you, you need to consistently “renew your mind”, or meditate on the Word of God. And just like working out at the gym–your effort will equal your results. It is important not to get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results!! Just like a seed that must grow roots before its stalk can appear, even though you might not be able to see evidence of change on the outside, progress is being made on the inside.
It’s also critical for you to understand that knowing the Word of God is not enough. The level of victory that you can manifest in your life is relative to your faith (or confidence) in the Word of God. Faith is believing that the Word of God is true. Trust is having enough confidence in it to put it into action. “Faith without works (action) is dead.” Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” The more you water your seed with the Word of God, the more confidence in it you will gain. The more confidence you gain in the Word of God, the more likely you are to put your faith into action. It is only when we put our faith into action that we can begin to manifest God’s glory in our lives.
When you think, ‘I can’t do it.’ God tells us to say and believe: ‘I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.’ (Philippians 4:13). (UP NEXT: YOUR NEW POTENTIAL)
